Title: John frusciante.
Post by: michael_isaac on February 09, 2016, 03:41:19 PM
Christ, here I go, listening to soul to squeeze and admiring the work of John. I don't know why I'm writing this to be honest. To cope with the fact Frusciante left the band now almost 8 years ago maybe?

I am 15 years old, I don't want to seem like the 'oh I listen to a band from the 80s' type of hipster but I guess I kinda am. All my life I grew up listening to the chili peppers, californication was the first album I ever listened to at 3 years old. Then By the way came out and I remember sitting in the kitchen with my father as he bounced around listening to Throw away your television. It was mind blowing. I never fully appreciated music until I listened to Stadium Arcadium. At 6 years old I'd be bopping around pretending to be John and screeched desecration smile.

It wasn't until 3 years ago I actually looked into the bands history and discovered many other albums (BSSM, OHM, Mothers milk etc) I also discovered the great guitarist Hillel Slovak. Hillel was funky, his style of playing was just unbelievably crazy. After learning about his death and Anthony's struggle with addiction I was shocked. Anthony Kiedis a junkie? Never. I refused to accept the fact but eventually did and thanked God for helping both him, flea and John battle their demons.

John was strange. To me he is the greatest guitarist to have lived. His work with the chili peppers will never be forgotten. Also can we talk about Hey from stadium Arcadium? That solo is just FUCKING insane. But anyway, this was more of a story about me then John.

Now RHCP has Josh Klinghoffer a quiet guitarist who keeps surprising me. That Italian song he covered was brilliant. Thank you John, Flea, Anthony, Chad, Josh, Hillel, Jack Irons, Cliff and Jack Sherman for all the music you have brought us.
